Region 8's 2009 RFP for the Food Quality Protection Act (FQPA)/Strategic Agricultural Initiative [SAI]) Grant Program has been posted to both the Region 8 website and to Grants.gov. We apologize for the long delay in getting the RFP out this year.

Purpose & Scope: The Strategic Agricultural Initiative (SAI) was developed as EPA's outreach program to demonstrate and facilitate the adoption of agricultural pest management practices that will enable growers to transition away from the use of high-risk pesticides. The SAI encourages the development of pest management practices and products that are sustainable, effective, and less toxic.

Application Due Date: Proposal packages must be postmarked no later than Monday, June 29, 2009. We are not accepting proposals through Grants.gov this year. Proposals may be sent via USPS, FedEx, UPS, or other commercial delivery service to the following address:

Please note that, like the 2006-2008 RFPs, the 2009 FQPA/SAI RFP has been combined with several other Region 8 grant programs into one large "Sustainable Practices and Regional Grant Priorities" RFP (also known as the "Consolidated Funding Process"). Please don't let the appearance or length of the consolidated RFP deter you from applying. As always, feel free to contact me if you have any questions or need help.
