EPA Seeking $21 Million in FY 2003 Watershed Competitive Grant Initiative Funding

On May 23, 2002, the EPA announced that it is seeking $21 million in FY 2003 watershed competitive grant initiative funding and is also seeking public comments by July 8 on the potential design of the initiative.

Background: We all live in a watershed—the area that drains to a common waterway, such as a stream, lake, estuary, wetland, or even he ocean—and our individual actions can directly affect it. EPA and its partners are working together on a watershed basis to protect the nation's water resources.

More information and the public comment link are available at http://www.epa.gov/owow/watershed.
