International Conference on Pesticide Application for Drift Management
Set October 27-29, 2004 in Hawaii
May 4, 2004
We are pleased to announce the International Conference on Pesticide
Application for Drift Management will be held October 27-29, 2004 on the
Big Island of Hawaii at the Hilton Waikoloa Village.
This international forum will bring together leaders in research and
technology, as well as educators, nozzle manufacturers, chemical company
representatives, and governmental regulators from Europe, North America,
Australia, and elsewhere. These scientists, industry leaders, educators,
and regulators will share the most current knowledge related to pesticide
spray drift, its concerns for human health and the environment, meteorological
factors, product stewardship, adjuvant chemistry, drift reduction technology,
computer modeling and best management practices.
It is the intent of the organizing committee to provide the state of
the art in spray drift knowledge and to move toward globally harmonized
management practices. http://pep.wsu.edu/Drift04/

This conference is designed to bring together individuals who are
actively involved in and/or affected by all aspects of pesticide drift
mitigation. This includes federal, state, and local agency personnel,
tribal governments, application technology engineers/managers/sales, chemical
company representatives, public health professionals, spray drift scientists
and researchers, pesticide drift modelers, students and environmental
interest groups.
TOPICS TO BE PRESENTED
- Incentives for Drift Management
- Drift Mitigation Technologies
- Regulatory Issues
- Environmental Conditions
- Drift Research and Management
- Applicator Education
- Best Management Practices (work groups)
MODELING WORKSHOP
An optional session will be offered on October 29 to include hands-on training,
exercises, and demonstrations of drift models from around the world.
CALL FOR POSTER
Scientists, educators, and policy makers involved in any aspect related
to pesticide drift are strongly encouraged to submit a poster(s) abstract
(250 words or less) describing their projects, findings, or educational
techniques. To participate in the poster session, presenters/authors must
submit the online Abstract
Submittal Form no later than July 24, 2004. Abstract submissions
will be used to determine which posters will be displayed at the conference.
Abstracts of selected posters will be published in the conference program
and will be posted on the web site following the conference. Posters provide
a valuable tool for scientific/education interaction. If the above link
fails, submission instructions are provided on the conference web site.
EXHIBIT SPACE AVAILABLE
Exhibit space is available for commercial displays. A limited number of
booths are available. See the conference web site for more information
