'Challenges in Agricultural Health and Safety' Conference Set September 7-9 in San FranciscoSAN FRANCISCOPlans are under way for the "Challenges in Agricultural Health and Safety" conference, set September 7-9, 2003 in San Francisco. It is sponsored by the Western Center for Agricultural Health and Safety at UC Davis; the Pacific Northwest Agricultural Safety and Health Center at the University of Washington, Seattle; the Center for Occupational and Environmental Health at UC Berkeley; and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). The program, posted on the Western Center for Agricultural Health and Safety Web site, covers a broad spectrum of agricultural health and safety issues. It includes five thematic sessions:
Breakfast Discussions and Winery Tour. In addition, during the September 8 and 9 breakfasts, participants will have an opportunity to engage in lively discussions at the thematic tables An optional tour of a Sonoma County winery for wine tasting and a gourmet lunch is planned for Sunday, September 7. Low Registration Fee. Due to support from universities, regulatory agencies, and industry, the registration fee is low. Continuing medical education credits are also available. Hotel Accommodations. Conference participants can stay in the Crowne Plaza Union Square, located in the heart of San Francisco's Union Square. It is within walking distance of tourist attractions, such as shops, galleries, theatres, cable cars, the Financial District, and Chinatown; and is minutes from Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39, and Marina Beach.
